“Remember, remember the fifth of November of gunpowder treason and plot. I know of no reason why the gun powder treason should ever be forgot.” -V for Vendetta
What does the word Vendetta mean? It means a blood feud in which the family of a murdered person seeks vengeance on the murderer or the murderer’s family.
-A prolonged bitter quarrel with or campaign against someone.
I’m sure most of you have heard of the group Anonymous. Anonymous is a hacker/activist group who is trying to take away power where it does not belong and give it back to the people. As well as give us information that “We the people” deserve to know.
I’ve heard mixed reviews about the group. Some people love them and think what they are doing is wonderful. Others hate them and believe they are going against the law and should all be arrested. Here’s the way I look at it. Murder is illegal right? But would you not kill someone to protect your child from being killed? I believe, in a round about way, that anonymous is doing the same thing. Yes some of what they are doing is considered illegal but in their defense they are doing it for all of the right reasons.
This story is an example of what I am talking about.
A hacker who helped convict rapist is now being charged with “three counts of unauthorized access of a computer affecting interstate communication to commit an invasion of privacy and libel and one count of making a false statement to the FBI.” Where is the justice in that?
I didn’t want to write this blog to try to sway anyone’s opinion of this group but more to bring light to it. On November 5th the group will be holding their Million mask March across the globe. This march is a protest against the corruption in power. I believe we need to make a statement this year more than ever.
Here’s a little history on November 5th-

Here’s more information on the march and locations-

I encourage you to always stand up for what’s right. You don’t have to go to a protest to do that if you’re not comfortable with it. There are things you can do everyday to make a difference.
“We are told to remember the idea and not the man. Because a man can fail. He can be caught, he can be killed and forgotten. But 400 years later, an idea can still change the world. I have witnessed firsthand the power of ideas. I’ve seen people kill in the name of them. But you cannot kiss an idea… cannot touch it or hold it.
Ideas do not bleed. They do not feel pain. They do not love. And it is not an idea that I miss. It is a man.
A man that made me remember the 5th of November. A man that I will never forget.”

Very moving, its late here in the UK and I will keep this blog of yours until tomorrow and read it again and the links. We do have to stand up for what we believe, we may not agree from time to time with “each other” but in life we must stick to our guns so to speak stand up for those beliefs, speak out. Excellent Post.

Thank you! I believe the biggest thing that divides us is our politicians and the media. I think if we all took a stand we would see the world change and become much better. Thank you for reading!
