“You said it was forever”

I realized a few days ago that I have yet to post a song from my favorite band for the song of the week. It was a very difficult task picking just one song considering I love them all. I started listening to Linkin park when I was 12 or 13 years old. It was actually the first rock band that I ever heard unless you include classic rock. A friend of mine introduced me to the band. He was killed in a car accident a few years later. I guess you could say that I feel a special connection with this band because of that.  Continue reading ““You said it was forever””

“No matter how many deaths that I die I will never forget”

Just about everyone knows by now how talented Jared Leto is. I picked this song because I wanted to share why my blog is titled Never forget, Never regret. I heard this song back when I was going through a difficult time and it spoke to me in more ways than one. But one part of the song has stuck with me throughout my life. Continue reading ““No matter how many deaths that I die I will never forget””

“I feel that there is nothing more truly artistic than to love people.”

I originally picked this for the song of the week because of the video. I’m a big fan of art in all of it’s different forms including music, painting, photography, self-expression, dance, you name it. I’m sure there are tons of people who would turn this video into something sexual but that’s not what this is about. I admire Brendon Urie’s ability to express himself in his most natural state. In our world we tend to see our bodies as something sexual or something shameful. We forget how beautiful we are and that our bodies are a wonderful work of art in all of it’s different shapes and sizes. “I don’t trust words, I even question actions. But I never doubt patterns.”

We are only human. To some that says a lot and to others that says nothing. We give too much or too little. We love to hard or not enough. We cry and laugh too much or too little. We feel too much or not enough. We all have our weaknesses and we can’t always save the [our] world. Sometimes we get hurt in the process and sometimes it’s because of our own stupidity. Let it go and move on. Make a choice to really let it go and forgive yourself. Forgive the situation. The past has no control over you anymore. Continue reading ““I don’t trust words, I even question actions. But I never doubt patterns.””

“Making my way away”

Music has been an extremely big part of my life since I was 12 years old. Just like writing, it’s an expression of ones self. So why not share it with the world? I decided to start posting what I call “the song of the week.” Continue reading ““Making my way away””

“I’ve been told I am the problem And the problem’s my honesty”

I’ve been listening to this song a lot the past few days. I believe you can fall in love with many different people and places and in many different ways. This song is pure in expressing self doubt, and the want to be accepted. At the same time admitting  faults and still valuing those around us no matter what their opinion of us is. I think there is a message in this song that needs to be heard especially with some of the events going on today. We all interpret music in different ways. I hope in some way this encourages you today. Continue reading ““I’ve been told I am the problem And the problem’s my honesty””
