This is a day of celebration. It’s a day to be proud of who you are and how far we’ve come. It’s also a day to remember the struggles of our fellow women (and men who joined with them) who fought so hard for us to have the life that we have now . They didn’t back down and they never gave up. Those women live in us and help us continue our fight for full equality. They proved that with enough determination we can, and will be heard.

To help celebrate this day, I wanted to leave you all with some amazing quotes from a few brilliant people.

“I think the girl who is able to earn her own living and pay her own way should be as happy as anybody on earth. The sense of independence and security is very sweet.”
Susan B. Anthony

“I had to get a close-hand view of the misery and unhappiness of a man made world, before I reached the point where I could successfully revolt against it.”
― Emmeline Pankhurst

“I hate to hear you talk about all women as if they were fine ladies instead of rational creatures. None of us want to be in calm waters all our lives.”
Jane Austen

“My own sex, I hope, will excuse me, if I treat them like rational creatures, instead of flattering their fascinating graces, and viewing them as if they were in a state of perpetual childhood, unable to stand alone.”
Mary Wollstonecraft

“I do not wish them [women] to have power over men; but over themselves.”
Mary Wollstonecraft

“No nation can rise to the height of glory unless your women are side by side with you. We are victims of evil customs. It is a crime against humanity that our women are shut up within the four walls of the houses as prisoners. There is no sanction anywhere for the deplorable condition in which our women have to live.”
― Muhammad Ali Jinnah
